This game does not have any accessibility for screen reader users (i.e: totally blind gamers). For a text-based game, I'm a bit surprised that this isn't the case, as screen readers would normally be able to read text. Please could you look into this? The screen reader, NVDA, just says the words blank and will not read any of the screen. There is a library called Tolc which might also be able to help you with this. Thanks in advance.
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
Adventure, exploration and survival in a single-player text-based, industrial-fantasy, open-world RPG with permadeath. This game is still in early prototype development and very much incomplete.
Krasten is an entirely text-based role-playing game with a menu-driven interface, designed for keyboard play but supporting any combination of keyboard, mouse, and/or gamepad/joystick, with fully remappable controls.
The world is your oyster. Explore, fight, loot, craft, quest, steal - no quest is mandatory and no NPC is indestructible, though the crime and reputation system ensures that all of your actions, both good and bad, will have consequences.
This project is still in early development, but regular public builds are available - I'd very much appreciate feedback, bug-reports and suggestions! All major updates will be posted here, but for those curious about more day-to-day progress of development, check out the game's Twitter.
Krasten is and will always be free to download and play! I'm making this game for fun, not for profit. :) Donations are purely optional but very much appreciated: https://ko-fi.com/gravecat
